We are planning a tour visiting the following places in Slovenia. Specific times and details to be provided in the near future. We will stay at tourist farms, making the trip quite inexpensive, and travel throughout Slovenia in vans. The tour begins in Slovenia, and will be conducted in English and Slovenian.

Trieste Italy. Visit San Sabbo, former rice factory and Nazi concentration camp; Bazovic cave and museum. Visit Slovenian cultural heritage sites, and learn how Trieste’s Slovenian enclave, still 25% of Trieste’s population, has evolved in a modern democracy, free from the burden of communism.
Expert: Ivo Jevnikar, journalist and Trieste historian. See recent memorial for Joze Golec, a Slovenian journalist and member of the Slovenian “James Bond” anti-communist, anti-fascist spy ring who was murdered by the Nazis, below. Video begins at -36:44.
Route of the Slovene refugees fleeing Tito. We will drive the route beginning in Ljubljana, to Viktring Austria, Bleiburg Austria, to Maribor and Celje.

We will be guided by experts including historians, archaeologists, anthropologists, historians and authors. We will also have several evening talks by experts on specific topics. The above is a draft schedule. More details will be added as the schedule is confirmed.
This tour will be conducted in conjunction with Tourism Slovenia, which will coordinate transportation, lodging, and most meals for the tour.
